I am glad that the assignments were optional. It was up to each person if they wanted to do it in order to get the most out of the course, but I'm glad that they weren't required. I could read the lessons at my own pace.

There are many legitimate ways to achieve working from home and this class provided a lot of resources and directions to take this in. I wish I would have known about this class a year ago and could have used the proposal format to make a professional case in working from home with my former employer. None the less, I am still motivated to make this happen and I am now in contact with my former employer in suggesting working as an independent contractor.

What suggestions do you have?

Keeping it current. With the recent state of our economy and the jobless rate it is not necessarily the best time to think about trying to get an employer to allow work from home, when most companies have downsized, are going to or have hiring/wage freezes this year. As I am hearing, most people are just happy to have their jobs right now. So, it would be motivational to see stories or examples of people who have made this work, even now.

Usually the best medium for this is via Adobe Acrobat PDF, with links to the actual online documents and resources, as well. The PDFs can be created for lesson, including all links to documents, supplements and resources. The PDFs can also be setup to text-to-speech, accessible to everyone. ;-) (This is what I do, as my line of work and occassional telecommuting. Which is what I plan to develop more seriously as a telecommuting business.)

More focused. The topic was very broad for the short amount of time the course was offered. For instence not sure why Franchises where covered when they are not truely a telecommuting type of busness typically. I would have liked more depth for each topic. Very informative class, lots of useful links, and information; and the discussion were very helpful also. The format you have it set up on is really excellent. I needed all this, and the flexibility of getting it in the moments I had available. This class will be most helpful for the person who has a somewhat unique skill set to market, and a decent amount of experience on line. Hopefully I can get enough things together to get a home income stream going, so my husband and I can go back and forth to Tucson where one of our sons and his wife and children live. Thank you so much for offering it, and I know there are lots of scams to watch out for for those of us who were just hoping to piggyback off an established freelance esite, but you have tried to give us the information we will need, and a realistic picture of the possibilities while still not limiting the vision we can set for ourselves, and yet cautioned us of the possible snags.

I found Lesson 12 the most useful, because I've never had any idea whatever of how to price my services. In the past, I've usually just been offered work at a certain rate-- take it or leave it.

I though Lesson 11 contained a lot of stuff that wouldn't be useful to most people-- how to determine whether one is an independent contractor or employeed. It seems like a rather artifical distinction to me, but maybe it's necessary for tax purposes.
